Tammy McCormick Donaldson, M.S., Ph.D., CAAB, CHBC was born in the Midwestern United States where she spent endless hours riding horses. She worked as an assistant trainer while attending university and as a barn manager before returning to graduate school. She went on to pursue graduate degrees in Animal Behavior at Washington State University (WSU). While studying at WSU, she trained in Clinical Animal Behavior at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Behavior Clinic. She has been a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist since 2003. Tammy has also received additional certification from the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants as a Horse Behavior Consultant. Tammy has been intensively studying and researching saddle fit in horses and its impact on behavior for over three years. Although she now centers her practice on horses, Tammy has worked with a number of animal species. She has written articles in animal behavior and co-authored the book, “The Science Behind a Happy Dog-Canine Training, Thinking and Behavior” with Emma Grigg, Ph.D., CAAB. In her downtime, Tammy enjoys competing in competitive trail riding (NATRC) and expanding her knowledge in Positive Reinforcement horse training and classical dressage.
